Archive for January, 2011

One of my favorite people in the industry, Brad Goreski who recently departed from the Rachel Zoe camp landed himself a gig with Kate Spade.

Goreski will get the opportunity to style the brand’s fall 2011 presentation during New York Fashion Week in February. Both Goreski and Kate Spade’s creative director Deborah Lloyd are elated; “The clothes are very playful and energetic with a modern feel, which is very much in tune with my own style, Goreski said. “I’m excited for this opportunity!”

“I am thrilled that Brad is working with me,”Lloyd said, “We both love to see people have fun with fashion!” [styleite]

So excited to see anything positive come Brad’s way! Congrats!!!

I can’t recall at what age I started wearing make-up. I do know that I did not begin to use anti-aging cosmetics at age 8.

That’s exactly the idea that Wal-Mart and beauty line GeoGirl is gearing towards. And thank God because these eight-year-olds I’ve been seeing lately look haggard. Ok ok, I’m done attacking, because I actually think it’s a good idea. At first it sounds crazy, and no I don’t think eight-year-olds should be wearing make-up, but I mean the idea GeoGirl has about using natural ingredients in their products.

The brand, which will debut in February (replacing Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s brand) contains antioxidants, white willow bark, and green tea extracts [PSFK]. So, it’s easy to understand why people would react to the “anti-aging” tag line, but why not have ingredients that are beneficial as such? Teach individuals when they’re young (not that young in my opinion) about good skin care, and healthy products. According to PSFK “the products will also paberaben, phthalate, and sulfate free, while synthetic colors and fragrances will be avoided to discourage skin allergies.”

Plus, all of their packages will be recyclable to promote an eco friendly attitude. Sounds like GeoGirl is doing some good things.

Hey pageant moms…you know where to go!

Madonna and daughter Lourdes Ciccone Leon have kicked Material Girl spokesperson Taylor Momsen to the curb in desire for a fresh face.

Can’t say I blame ’em… hm.

According to The New York PostLeon, who writes the Material Girl blog, announced on Jan. 11 that the label was “desperately seeking” a new spokesperson. I must say, naming Kelly Osbourne as the face for “2011 Material Girl” seems like a very smart move. She’s beautiful, smart, and has just the right amount of edge courtesy of pop Ozzy Osbourne. Plus, she’s from the fashion realm being a co-host on E!’s “Fashion Police”.

According to a representative, details concerning the campaign will be revealed in the upcoming weeks. Congrats Kelly!

According to Styleite, Justin Bieber’s haircuts cost…

$750 every two weeks.

Bieber’s stylist, Vanessa Price has apparently heard some creepy things about the Biebs locks; ”I’ve heard adults joke they were going to take his hair after I cut it. I tell them they’re really creepy. [Justin and I] were shocked people cared that much about someone’s hair!” (Styleite)

What’s creepy is this kid is paying $750 every two weeks to get his hair cut and it looks like he hasn’t had a hair cut since he was two.

Anyone? anyone?
