Jacqueline Traide volunteered to participate in a shocking experiment that was done to raise awareness about what animals go through when they have cosmetics tested on them.
I’m pretty sure all of us know that some companies test on animals, but do we really think about it?

Maybe these images will bring the realization that this is an awful process.

In a world concerned with appearances and making women feel bad about themselves comes something positive. I love this. Dove Australia (bring to the US asap!) is trying to re-write those ads you see on the side of your computer screen that make you feel bad about yourself. Now if only we could start believing it.

The fine people of The Cut tested Bethenny Frankel’s SkinnyGirl products and I’m incredibly shocked by their findings.

I’m still not convinced the second photo wasn’t photoshopped, even though it says “No photoshop was used.” Take a look for yourself…

Craaaaaaaaaaaazy!

Obviously she doesn’t really need any type of undergarments to start with, but the end result is pretty astounding.

The young lady in the photos has the Alluring Shaping Bodysuit on: $40.00

They also gave a run down on SkinnyGirl’s beauty products:

(Clockwise from top) Tinted Daily Moisturizer  Thankfully scent-free, rubs in smooth, and leaves a light shimmer.

Vitamin C Face Scrub  Smells like strawberry-flavored Sour Straws but exfoliates like a handful of wet sand. It contains shea butter, which leaves skin feeling soft.

Energizing Lip Shine  A bit sticky and sweet, almost like honey, without calories.

Body Shimmer  Great, if you like your skin more shiny than shimmery, with an indistinguishable color change, and a greasy residue.

Cool Your Feet Spray  Like peppermint mouthwash, for your feet.

Detox Face Mask  Practically odorless, soothing, and probably most effective hangover cure when used after the Margarita Bath Collection.

Do you use SkinnyGirl products?

Day 5: A picture of yourself two years ago.

I believe this is me (well I know it’s me) about two years ago. Was a redhead then…

…for a while. I changed hair colors quite a bit then and I always find myself missing colors I don’t have.

Anyone else get bored with their hair?

There’s a weird trend going on right now where girls are trying to make themselves look like dolls. Dolls are creepy. And so are these girls.

This girl, Dakota Rose, who apparently is very popular for her looks isn’t that bad….but…

This one? CREEPY. And what is that look she keeps giving?

Honey, you look stupid.

There are so many box-subscriptions out there today, how do you know what one to try? I had mentioned that I was extremely disappointed with BirchBox, and put my sample days behind me.

I was then contacted by someone who told me about Sample Society, from BeautyBar.com and Allure and I am now re-thinking this whole thing.

A Sample Society membership will give you (monthly):

-“Five deluxe-size samples from premium brands such as By Terry, Dermalogica, Fekkai Advanced, and Bond No. 9. Samples are deluxe-size, meaning they are intended for more than one use, allowing customers to truly experience and test products’ efficacy.”

-“Original content written by Allure editors with each month’s samples, giving the customer relevant expert information that can optimize her experience and ultimately help her make purchase decisions.

-“A $15 gift code that can be used toward the purchase of any product from the featured brands received that month (not just the specific product sampled), meaning that each box pays for itself .”

-Members also receive a one-year subscription to Allure as an added bonus.

As with most sample subscriptions, there is a waiting list as membership is limited.

Take a look inside March’s box:

Fekkai Advanced Glossing Cream (1.6 oz), Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (.45 oz), REN Glycolactic Skin Renewal Peel Mask (15 ml), Skyn Iceland Icelandic Relief Eye Pen(.14 oz) and Oscar de la Renta Espirit D’Oscar Eau de Parfum Rollerball (.1 fl oz).

So, will you try Sample Society?
